Hey i tried the baking soda mixed with water for shampoo and apple cider vinegar with water for the conditioner and it is amazing! I have natural curly/wavy hair and use a flat iron everyday. I just tried the baking soda shampoo and acv conditioner with the recommended 1tbsp into 1-2 cups of water. This is by far the number one reason to make the switch to shampoo bars and conditioner bars. The concentration of surfactants is very low and because the surface of hair is different form skin, it is necessary to use a different arsenal of surfactants to clean it. Why put something on your hair that has such bad ingredients that they have to even it out with extra moisturizing components. Second, while the mechanism of cleansing is the same you have to consider that shampoo contains other ingredients besides sls or sles, such as conditioning agents. This morning literally i washed my hair with normal shampoo and used the conditioner i made. When the water cools you strain the tea and during your washing you put it through your hair, scrub and rinse. One conditioner bar will last 40-50 uses including all the ways to use it, which are explained below. I think the best thing i got out of it is watering down the shampoo.
