I have the same hair type as she described (Thin, fine hair). To me, the acv (When my hair was dry) smelled like dry pee on a surface. If you use the apple cider vinegar to a ratio of 1 tbsp to 1 cup of water than the vinegar is very good for you hair. The bottle has been great for getting down to my scalp (I have thick, long hair). I can for the first time in 20 years, look and feel fine, only shampooing my hair once a week or less. Oh, and shampoo bars, homemade castile soap shampoos, and many other diy or natural haircare methods have the same ph problems as baking soda.

I too was concerned about the effect of b/s on my hair and chose not to go down this route. I have been searching for some decent, natural haircare products. Your hair may have increased tangles, more frizz and hair may even feel waxy. I read where you said that this treatment will help with frizziness, but i can almost bet my hair will still need some help. My hair recently recovered from severe damage, so i think i will heed the warning! The bar is a little large, i plan on cutting into 4ths on the next bar to make it a little easier to hold in the shower. I love not having the burden of dealing with shampoo or conditioner. Bc it does not bring your hair back to the ph level it needs to be at. : I have a set of bars on a dish for myself and my husband, right beside our solid bars of soap.
So far, in pursuit of this quest, i have gone from shampooing daily, to shampooing every other day. After my experience, i decided not to do anymore diy shampoo alternatives, but i would consider a trying a soap nuts-based product sometime. Then i squeezed the acv mixture (Not on my scalp as i did with the baking soda ) but just throughout my hair and ran my fingers through it again. I spotted very bugs except on the children who have persisted in using shampoo. Some people prefer to use the rinse before shampooing. Meanwhile, commercial shampoos contain many man-made chemicals (Unlike lye which is naturally sourced) that do much more harm than good. I am still in the transition period myself, but i would guess that you would just wash your hair whenever it looks like it needs to be washed. When i first used it, my hair was sticky and tangled real bad.

If i use baby powder to soak up the excess oil while i am in the gross period of this will it be just as bad as shampooing? I plan on using castor oil as the shiner for my hair. I used to wash my hair every second day but always on second day my hair looked horrible so one day i started washing it every day and it worked although in summer days i could wash them twice but i never did that. Just add a few drops to your wet hair right after a shower and leave it in as you blow it out. After i towel dried my hair, i put a bit of hand heated virgin coconut oil on my towel dried hair to give my hair some shine. Allow bar to dry between uses to extend the life of the bar. I have historically used very expensive french products from my hair salon. I blew it dry, used blow outs or hair drying to give it body and a flat iron to kind of keep it clean. I will be trying shampoo bars next, and i still use acv to condition.
