I have the same hair type as she described (Thin, fine hair). To me, the acv (When my hair was dry) smelled like dry pee on a surface. If you use the apple cider vinegar to a ratio of 1 tbsp to 1 cup of water than the vinegar is very good for you hair. The bottle has been great for getting down to my scalp (I have thick, long hair). I can for the first time in 20 years, look and feel fine, only shampooing my hair once a week or less. Oh, and shampoo bars, homemade castile soap shampoos, and many other diy or natural haircare methods have the same ph problems as baking soda.

I too was concerned about the effect of b/s on my hair and chose not to go down this route. I have been searching for some decent, natural haircare products. Your hair may have increased tangles, more frizz and hair may even feel waxy. I read where you said that this treatment will help with frizziness, but i can almost bet my hair will still need some help. So far, in pursuit of this quest, i have gone from shampooing daily, to shampooing every other day. After my experience, i decided not to do anymore diy shampoo alternatives, but i would consider a trying a soap nuts-based product sometime. Then i squeezed the acv mixture (Not on my scalp as i did with the baking soda ) but just throughout my hair and ran my fingers through it again. I spotted very bugs except on the children who have persisted in using shampoo. Some people prefer to use the rinse before shampooing. Meanwhile, commercial shampoos contain many man-made chemicals (Unlike lye which is naturally sourced) that do much more harm than good. I am still in the transition period myself, but i would guess that you would just wash your hair whenever it looks like it needs to be washed. When i first used it, my hair was sticky and tangled real bad.

If i use baby powder to soak up the excess oil while i am in the gross period of this will it be just as bad as shampooing?
