The taste is very similar to soy, but the taste is softer. However, when added to food, you realize that the sauce is not very salty, i. e. you can’t add salt to this sauce or you have to add VERY much, but then the taste will be a little sweet. I purchased this to replace soy sauce/tamari in low carb g/f Asian cooking, but find it is not as salty as I would like and is a little too sweet. It does make a great dipping sauce for Asian meatballs though, with a little sesame oil and chilli!
