The non-flush niacin is almost totally ineffective for those purposes – even though the mainstream medical providers recommend “non-flush niacin.” I rarely get the hot flush anymore but even when I did (or do) – I didn’t really mind. It didn’t last long. One thing you can do is take a baby aspirin (low dose) at the same time. That will lessen or even eliminate the flush. One other thing – I discovered that taking the flush niacin if you have a sunburn – it will help the sunburn! I’m guessing because the skin surface expands after being contracted by the sun!
