MegaFood, Baby & Me 2, 60 Tablets Product Review
Naturally and expensive, alas, not always high quality! Great Vitamins, Vitamin A Beta Carotene. The best vitamins for expectant mothers, pregnant and lactating! Highly recommend. Great Vitamins. I liked it. Unfortunately did not fit. the coolest of natural vitamin. Найкращі вітаміни доя вагітних. I was approached
Of course, an indisputable plus of vitamins in their naturalness! In the review I’ll give a comparison of different series of vitamins for mothers Baby & Me and Baby & Me 2. And also I’ll give the norms for pregnant women (may differ from those that you find on the Internet, they write differently everywhere, but I took on medical sites, not forums). Vitamin A has become in very large doses! (Before 2500, now 5000!) Although the norm for pregnant women is 2500 and the maximum dosage is 5000 and only at the planning stage. (Why so much is not clear, Hypervitaminosis A is dangerous for the fetus, as it can cause malformations, such as heart disease, diseases of the nervous system. ) Vitamin C increased dose from 60 to 200 (normal per day 90). Vitamin D3 dosage was reduced from 1000 to 600 (400-600 for pregnant women). Vitamin E dosage was normal. (Please note, doctors sometimes prescribe a vitamin in a dosage of 100 mg, But note that they take into account a synthetic vitamin that is not completely absorbed into the body. Vitamin K dosage is normal. Vitamin B1 dosage is normal. Vitamin B2 dosage is normal. Vitamin B3 (he is niktinomid or niacin) is normal. Vitamin B6 the dosage was 2.5 mg became 8 (norm 2.5 mg). EXCEEDANCE OF THE NORM! Vitamin B9 (IT IS SAME FOLIC ACID) was the dosage 800 became 600 (norm 800-100) Vitamin B12 (based on methylcabolomine, it’s good, it works better and faster in the body) normally specifically for that kind of vitamin. Vitamin N (aka biotin) dosage up to 200 field 300 (norm from 30-100). Vitamin B5 (pantatene kilot) dosage of both 10 mg (norm 4-7). Calcium in the first series he was, but such an insignificant amount, they were removed altogether in the second series. It must be taken separately! Iodine (18 mg is not exactly written in the description, actually 150 mcg) is below the norm. norm 200-250. Iron (for some reason is missing, on the can) in both series 18 mg, the norm is 30-60 mg. Zinc used to be 7.5 mg is now 15, the norm is 15 mg. Selenium before 35 mcg is now 50, the norm is 65-75 mcg. Copper before 250 mcg is now 150 mcg, the norm is 1.5-3 mg. Manganese before 2 mg is now 1 mg, the norm is 2-5 mg. Chromium before 60 mg is now 50 mg, the norm is 50-200 mg. Molybdenum before 25 mcg is now 10 mcg, the norm is 75-250 mcg. Potassium before 6 is now 4, the norm is 2000 mg. Vitamin B4 (choline) is normal. Alas, this ends the list of differences. In the first vitamins there was a richer diet (there also included Bor, Cranberry Fruit Extract, Organic Beetroot Root, Wild Blueberry Fruit) In general, the diet was richer. In the second series of vitamins, as well as in the first, balance is not visible, but here it scares more with frankly large doses. For example, vitamin A, C, B6, B5. I take these vitamins 1 tablet, instead of the recommended 2, which means I do not exceed the norm. In my opinion, this is better than an overdose. In addition, do not forget, we also get vitamins from food. But still I do so.1st trimester: 1 tablet Baby & Me 2 Iodine in a dosage of 200? g (+75? g from the complex) Vitamin E 100 mg (+15 IU from the complex) Folic acid 1 mg (+ 0.3? g from the complex) 2nd trimester: 1 tablet Baby & Me 2 Iodine at a dosage of 200 mcg (+75 mcg from the complex) Iron 50 mg (+9 mg from the complex) Calcium 1500 mg Vitamin D3 200 (+300 from the complex) 3rd trimester: 1 tablet Baby & Me 2 Iron 50 mg (+9 mg from the complex) Calcium 1500 mg Vitamin D3 200 (+300 from the complex) So I take my vitamins. So they are more balanced, but alas, almost all the additives are already synthetic. + Correct
Some reviews write that vitamin A is exceeded in these vitamins. An overdose of vitamin A in the form of retinol is harmful to the fetus. And here, vitamin A is presented in the form of beta-carotene (provitamin vitamin A).5000 IU = 3 mg beta-carotene. Beta-carotene is completely non-toxic and unlike vitamin A does not harm the embryo.6 mg beta-carotene is equivalent to 1 mg of vitamin A. Here, 0.5 mg = 500? g of vitamin A is obtained. The norm for an adult is 900 mcg, and for pregnant women 1300 mcg. In addition to these vitamins, you will also need to eat carrots and other healthy foods. In 100g of carrots, 183.3 micrograms of vitamin A. Therefore, draw your own conclusions. I wish health to all mummies and children)
These vitamins I drank during pregnancy, because the usual appeared allergies, and in those that are widely recommended by doctors in consultations, as it turned out, there is absolutely no iodine. And it is needed for the development of the fetus. In MegaFood Baby & Me the composition is balanced. There are absolutely all vitamins and minerals that are needed for fetal development and health maintenance. I did not feel unwell and there was no allergy. On the contrary, there was some lightness, the condition of the hair and nails became much better. These vitamins do not contain GMOs and are completely safe (as claimed by the manufacturer). The only thing I did not like was the price, but it’s not accepted to save on health. I’m very glad if you liked my review! I tried to be useful to you! Please click “Yes” if you need it! For a DISCOUNT, please visit my page! Thank you very much. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
My favorite vitamins. Just super. Firstly, they are really natural, most synthetic. These saw and also the producer of Garden of Life, both are good, but these were liked a little more. Saw during pregnancy and lactation. Hair absolutely did not fall out. The condition of the skin and nails is excellent. Very pleased with them.
Natural composition, does not cause allergies
These multivitamins help me get up in the morning! When the first bank ended, I felt their absence. And I really looked forward to when my new order arrives. It’s just normal with them, without them I’m like a rag. GV 2,4
I have a poor respect for folates and I really hoped for these vitamins. Vitamin C is a bit much for me, so I drank them one at a time, adding methylated folk in a separate dose. After a month of administration, it began to increase: pain in the stomach without digestion, mild headache, even pinching in the nose) It’s a pity I no longer found prenatal vitamins with methyl folate and methylated B12. I feel sorry for my money and myself, because the symptoms of the side effects have not yet passed. I want to say that I drank vitamins for every day of this company for several years without problems.
Ingenious balanced composition, my doctor was delighted. I drank both during pregnancy and now, during the period of feeding. I wish you all these vitamins to all pregnant women. True, from time to time they disappear)
Дуже гарна формула,додатково приймаю D3 та Омегу,побочних ніяких не було
I accept a month, the feeling that energy has increased, if by the evening I didn’t want to cook dinner or play with the child, now this is not, surprisingly. The mood is not depressed. The condition of the skin and hair is good, there are no problems. On Guinea, the child did not cause an allergy
Questions and Answers
Is it orange flavored? Does it cause acidity?
What is the difference between “megafood baby & me” and “megafood baby & me 2”?
Hi i am taking the baby & me 2 supplement. But the tablet turn very dark in colour. Can i still take it? Why is it so? thank you
Why is this no longer availablle to Canadians? I’ve just started my pregnancy and this is the brand I rely on! Is it coming back?
Is this a safe level of vitamin A to be taking before and wile pregnant?
Is this amount of vitamin A safe for pregnant women?
There’s no orange taste and I don’t have any acid problems from it, even when taking it on an empty stomach. The pills are a bit large and sometimes I break them in half-they break easily. The taste is kind of vitamin-y. Not delicious, but not too bad, either.
I’m not quite sure but it looks like the Baby and Me is a powder and it has a few different supplemental ingredients than the Baby and Me 2 has. I can’t quite read the entire description of the Baby and Me ingredients. but I have Baby and Me 2 and I love them! I’m 9 month Postpartum with my 3rd baby and they really make me feel good and keep me healthy.
I think you can take if they not expire and u use recently. Because vitamins has natural ingredient they can change colors when u open a bottle
I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be available for Canada anymore other than it might be related to the FDA not approving it because it’s a vitamin and they haven’t researched it enough in Canada or it could be a whole gamet of other reasons. I would call the Mega Food company and check with them to see why they are no longer selling in Canada. I’m sure the number is online. Good luck and hopefully you will be able to get it again it is an amazing product.
As far as I’m aware, the only type of vitamin A that’s dangerous is retinol, which is akin to what’s found in animal products – your body only converts what it needs from beta carotene, the vegetarian kind, so you can’t overdose on that.
A-vitamin is available in two forms. As retinol or retinyl ester you should look up the safe amount to take when being pregnant. In the form of beta carotene (as it is in this vitamin) it is not dangerous for your pregnancy or your baby. I took this vitamin during my pregnancy and have a super healthy little girl 🙂
