bought this for my teen son who has trouble falling asleep, works wonders. I use it sometimes as well when I’m to wound up to fall asleep. The minus is that I wake up groggy and it takes and couple of minutes to clear my head.

I am using this with withdrawing from antidepressants and it’s the only thing that gets me off to sleep. Only use on work nights so I know I sleep.1mg is enough, it does not put you to sleep it gently nudges you to sleep.

I have been taking 5mg tablets for 7 days now. If I take 20 mins before bedtime as suggested I’m still awake all night until 6 or 7 am. I have now doubled the dose to 10mg and take them at 6pm to get to sleep around 11-11.30pm. Why do they take so long to work? Also is it safe to take paracetamol after taking the melatonin?

you mean “months”? First 2 months? middle 2 months? last 2 months? Melatonin was not known/discussed when I was pregnant decades ago, so all I can say is melatonin is a naturally occurring substance in everyone. A lot is present when a baby and it slowly lessens over time, which is why most folks begin taking it in their 40s and 50s. Info is available on the web.
I have suffered with insomnia for 40years, since I discovered Natrol Melatonin I have had such beautiful sleeps I started with 3mg, but now I take 5mg They are time release so when I wake up to go the the bathroom I go back to sleep immediately I do not wake up with any residue of having taken the tablet, for the first few mornings I was a little “fuzzy”, but with anything new we give our bodies it does take a little time to get used to I strongly recommend them, perhaps start with a lower dose the progress to the higher one Hope this helps

I am in a similar situation. Melatonin has worked well for me. Takes a few days to build up but can prove to be very effective. It can be prescribed but ALOT more expensive. Ask you GP.

I am not a doctor so my answer is just my personal experience. I find these Melatonin tablets usually work for me but have had the occasional “failure”. Usually after a stressful day when I know my brain isn’t really closing down. I have found the most reliable “over the counter” sleeping tablet to be Kirkland brand “Sleep Aid”.
