Chili peppers, the fruits of the capsicum plants, are commonly used as food and medicine. Some animal studies have shown that milk thistle could be useful for reducing the side effects of cancer treatments (26, 27, 28). Evidences for antiosteoporotic and selective estrogen receptor modulator activity of silymarin compared with ethinylestradiol in ovariectomized rats. In addition, the actions, mechanisms and therapeutic potential of plant compounds and/or extracts, and new insights into the advantage of herbal therapy, which simultaneously governs distinct metabolic pathways immune cells and cells, were discussed for t2d.

More studies are needed before it can be determined how silymarin might be used to support people undergoing cancer treatment. Alternatively, this may be related to the effect of silymarin on detoxification systems. Ten randomized trials have been reported in patients with hepatitis or cirrhosis, and one randomized trial has reported the use of silymarin as a prophylaxis to iatrogenic hepatic toxicity. In ovariectomized rats, treatment for 12 weeks with silymarin prevented bone loss, either through increasing formation via an effect on calcium, phosphorus, osteocalcin, and parathyroid hormone, or through direct action with estrogen receptor-beta. More than 60 natural compounds from traditional medicine, especially traditional chinese medicine (Tcm), are reported to regulate abca1 expression in different in vitro and in vivo models (Such as cholesterol efflux and atherosclerotic animal models). Some people are advised to be cautious when taking milk thistle. Therefore, the main challenge of this review is to discuss the diverse molecular mechanisms for silymarin antiproliferative and apoptotic effects; most of them largely studied in various types of cancers so far. Natural products from traditional medicine constitute a large promising pool for compounds that regulate abca1 expression, and thus may prevent/treat diseases related to cholesterol metabolism, like atherosclerosis or alzheimer’s disease. Clearly, milk thistle has an array of positive effects throughout the body.

Great product. Anthony William recommends it. Also suitable for children and babies as it is very gentle.

I use it as a liver supplement for my cat and is really effective

Great for opening detox pathways and supporting liver health

Glad to find this product and especially like that it is alcohol free.

The child has a 1.8 bile bend. Gave 10 drops 3 times before meals for two weeks. The chair got better. I plan to give short courses periodically.

This is an excellent product. I cycle on and off it, I think that having breaks is important. It is very effective and I only use 15 drops together with other herbal remedies, 10 minutes before meals. I prefer this one to the one with alcohol as I am watching my glucose levels.

I love this product will order again

Like that it is alcohol free as it is suitable for my cat and only requires 1 or 2 drops which minimizes my cats suspicion

Perfectly cleanses the liver, supports and restores!

How I will know
I’ve always understood herb dosing for children to be similar to that of OTC – for little ones up to 6 give 1/4 the adult dose. That’s what I used when mine were little. I used this alcohol free milk thistle to save my 12 yr old kitties life after a rx vet drug put her into liver failure. He said there was nothing he could do to help, I should ‘just let her go’! That was 7 yrs ago and she’s still my sweet companion. I know 2 adults who used milk thistle for cirrhosis. One from alcohol, the other from rx drugs for heart disease and diabetes. Both combined it with proper nutrition and cleansing and got a clean bill of health within a few months. A friends brother was on the list for a liver transplant when he started milk thistle and other herbs. he never did need that transplant. And best of all! I met a young lady home on break from college. She related how she’d been in Vanderbilt awaiting a liver transplant when she was 5. Her dr warned her mom that she was failing and probably wouldn’t live long enough to get a liver. He suggested her mom start giving her milk thistle, without letting anyone on staff know. Her mom did. She left the hospital a few months later – without the transplant. I got goosebumps when she told me that b/c she was glowing with good health at 20! Slightly orange from the carrot juicing, but bouncing with energy and life!
