While I am not an expert in re citrine or possible contaminants, I can say I have found this product effective at less costs than the mainstream products requiring prescription by a medical doctor. Also, I have found it to be as good as the prescription products with out all the side effects. A friend asked about it, I told him my experience. He tried it and found it did not have the side effects like the prescription product he had been given. He has used it now for over two years and continues to use this red yeast rice product. Hi! I don’t think so. The main ingredient is “red yeast rice (Monascus purpureus)” There are also 9 “Other Ingredients” but I don’t see citramin anywhere. I’ve been taking this for at least a decade and it keeps my Chol. level, HDL, and LDL within normal range. I also like that they’re extended release, easy to swallow & are colored with beet juice. Hope that’s helpful.
