The calcium in Alive! Bone Formula is certainly NOT calcium carbonate. Instead it is a trade marked supplement Aquamin which contains calcium derived from a red algae “Lithothamnion calcareum”. This form of calcium is far more bioactive than calcium carbonate and also contains many trace minerals. There is a lot of information about Aquamin and Lithothamnion available on the internet.
The label only says cholecalciferol. You may have to contact Nature’s Way for more exacting information.
Average size, like a capsule. If you can swallow an average size capsule you should be able to swallow this. Otherwise it can be chewed up and swallowed with food or drink. I think the taste is easily tolerable.
I am not a doctor, but I would surmise it is okay because it is plant-based. Check with your doctor for sure.
