Why can’t you take this medication if your trying to get pregnant?
It depends on what’s causing your period to go missing. It could be many things: Low thyroid, high prolactin, hypothalamic amenorrhea or PCOS. Vitex only affects prolactin levels and reduces stress (by binding to opioid and D2 (dopamine) receptors). It can make HA worse and it can also make PCOS worse by raising LH. – TLDR; it restores periods in a very small population. For most, it will make it worse or not do anything at all. First, it isn’t a ‘medication’. Allopathic & Naturopathic doctors, as well as the FDA, will want to keep that distinction. This is an ‘herbal supplement’. Secondly, this is most definitely a question for a physician! You will want to seek out a reputable herbal practitioner, naturopathic doctor, or your own allopathic (medical) doctor. You can also do more research online and in books! There are wonderful herbal books for pregnancy. Good luck. 🙂
