Frankincense is a sweet vanilla-like scent that I bought on the net somewhere, but it was a citrus scent that was much cleaner than I thought, but this is a good scent I think if you look at it, it seems that the scent of frankincense varies depending on the place of production. On the bottle it says “not for internal use” so I wouldn’t use it internally. I used it on the skin directly without a carrier and I had no issues. However if you have sensitive skin you should use it with carrier oil. It is great in the diffuser. Smells nice and it has a strong scent.
Officially that is not recommended but personally I do so and have had some good results with skin issues. It really depends on your skin and also the essential oil, my skin reacted badly to some other essential oils but this one I seem to be able to tolerate well directly on my skin. Again, officially any essential oil should be diluted with a carrier oil (I usually use coconut, olive or almond oil) so experiment at your own risk and in an inconspicuous area of the skin. Always be careful around the soft tissue of the mouth, eyes and other delicate parts as that is not the same as the skin on the rest of your body. I personally have used this oil directly on my face and had no adverse effects, however my Mother cannot tolerate any essential oils on her skin unless they are quite diluted.
