You could put a small amount in a carrier oil. But if you put the tea tree oil alone directly face, it will burn like the fire of a thousand suns.
The product I purchased is food grade and I add it to my cup of tea regularly. It is very concentrated so 1 drop is usually enough, any more spoils the taste rather than enhance it. I enjoy the added flavour in my tea and have had no negative reactions to the oil at all.
