Finally, after four and a half years, I decided to leave feedback on those purchases on Foodpharmacy Blog that I tried myself. For four years now I have painted only this henna. Color chic, keeps very well. But as I have a lot of gray hair (I’m over 50), then I am painted every 4 weeks (I need to paint the growing hair). I will share my coloring recipe: I take 3 tbsp. l henna + 2 tbsp. l coffee + 1 tbsp cocoa. This mixture is diluted with kefir + 1 yolk + 1 tsp. oils (argan or coconut) + 1 tsp cognac. We bring to a consistence not thick sour cream. We apply this mixture on washed hair (conditioner), put on a shower cap, then put something warm on top and walk like this for 4 hours. Wash off with water for a long time, then apply hair balm and wash out all the remnants from the head. Hair will thank you. They do not fall out, lively, beautiful, nourished. )

The lid on the tube is not even and will not close properly and the tube was only filled halfway. I see no difference in my teeth health.

They are red color. Please don’t claim it it’s a medium brown. It is deceiving.

Henna for healthy hair

Started having grey hair as a child. I’ve been coloring my hair for as long as I can remember. I had tried henna in my twenties, but the powder was coarse and hard to apply. The palet choice was very limited. About 2 years ago I decided to go organic and give henna a second chance. Stuck to another European brand for a year, but it was pretty pricey. Then gave a try to rainbow henna. Same quantity and quality for 1/3 the price! Will stick to it till my fifties when I will definitely go grey by choice (my children won’t let me before that age. )

I liked how henna rests on the hair, does not crumble during application. She painted almost the entire gray hair the first time. I stayed for about 2 months, until the next painting. Unlike our pharmacy henna, after this the hair is not dry and does not stick out in different directions.

You get a nice chestnut shade after a number of washes but it’s rather normal for natural henna. The plastic container wouldn’t make sense for some people but I use only a small amount of powder each time so this type of packaging is extremally handy for me.

i tried the rainbow henna dark brown, followed the instructions and my hair ended up so dry, coarse with hard and crunchy texture. i waited for 2 hours before washing it off with conditioner, the next day i oil my hair with sweet almond oil bought from Foodpharmacy Blog as well and left it overnight. the next day shampoo it off. My face and skin then started to itchy quite badly, for 3-4 days before it settled down. Could it be a case where i’m allergic to henna? or the apple cider vinegar?

These colours are mixes of henna, indigo and cassia. Cassia makes it lighter, and indigo makes it darker and cooler. I use the Persian Dark Brown which is a lovely cool chocolate brown – it has a large amount of indigo in it. Indigo by itself is a greeny-blue colour, but when mixed with henna it can produces shades of burgundy, browns, mahoganies and black. The best way to make a true black is to dye with henna first, *then* wash it out and dye over again with pure indigo. I have very short hair and get at least 15 to 20 applications. I only use it to soften the gray in my hair, not necessarily get rid of it.
It could be possible that you are allergic to Henna. That’s why you should always do a test in a few hairs some days, before aplicating Henna to prevent a big reaccion.
All the instructions are located on the fold out label attached to the container. No it’s not a foaming type product. You can use this on wet or dry hair, if you wash your hair before you use it, don’t use conditioner. Take the Henna powder that you think you’ll need out of the henna container. I use approximately 3 to 4 tablespoons because I only use it on some of my roots to cover grey. Mix in a plastic bowl with a plastic fork (no metal) I use approx.1 teaspoon lemon juice and then you’re going to add boiling water and mix to the consistency like yogurt. You can mix Henna colors together to try out. I used to mix medium brown with dark brown but my hair started getting too red so I’m back to using just the dark brown. I apply the mixture with a color brush that I bought at the beauty supply store for $1 but you can use something like that or you can just use your fingers. I wear disposable gloves and apply the mixture to wherever you want it. I then wrap my head with saran wrap snuggly to try to keep the heat in as much as possible and then I cover with a stocking hat and I leave this on for about 90 min. Then I wash it out with shampoo or you can use conditioner to help get it out. FYI: You can’t make your hair lighter with Henna, only darker. I hope this helps. There’s different ways you can mix it so just read through the instructions that are attached to container and try whichever you want. You can’t go too wrong, it’s pretty forgiving.
Yes I’m sure you could. It does darken over a day or two after using it. I add hot water, coffee and apple cider vinegar to the powder.

Hi! I’ve not tried black. But I like this Dark Brown. The final colour depends on your natural colour. My natural color is lightest brown. This hair color makes my hair chestnut brown
Dear the best thing you can do is go for the dark and Medium just mix them together also you can’t put 1 tablespoon vinegar for the white hair and you can mix it with dark American coffee and you will get the best results good luck Sandra
With light brown your gray will turn to blond highlights. With dark brown grey would blend in. Just don’t freak out if your hair will look almost black after application. With the first shampoo wash(after 2-3 days) black will come off and brown will remain. Hope it helps
