I’m a fan of “Better Than Bouillon, Organic Vegetable Base” in paste form, but I bought a little powder for a trial. Is this close to consomme? A little more salty. The powder is easy to use, but I like Better Than Bouillon, an organic vegetable base.

Yes. It is Vegan and so long as nothing haram is added (ex: alcohol), it meets Halal and Kosher standards.
The direction on the bottle label is to dissolve the broth into the water, stir and boil. Then add whatever vegetables of one’s choice. The broth comes in powder form (very fine granules) and they dissolve quite quickly in boiling water. I use this as stock for my vegetable soup.
I am sure it does not. Rapunzel is a renowned company for purest organic products. They are based in Switzerland but their products can be found in every German organic store (I am from Germany), also in Europe any Glutamate contains must be labelled and declared on the ingredient list. I love this product use it every day for seasoning.
