Serrapeptase is an anti-inflammatory by way of possibly cleaning and thinning the blood (you don’t want to take it with other blood thinners) but I don’t think it would cause allergic reactions similar to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Aspirin originally comes from trees like the Willow and Aspen and serrapeptase is an enzyme that comes from Japanese moths. Serrapeptase has been know to cause allergic skin reactions and gastrointestinal problems. Error on the side of caution.

Unfortunately, you cannot accurately compare SPU’s to mgs – the reason being is that the mgs are the measurement of the quantity of the substance but with a SPU it is a measurement of the amount of proteins, fibrin etc that Serrapeptase can break down, dissolve or digest. Hope this answers your question. Regarding this above product, it is excellent and the perfect SPU’s to first start a course with. I can only say that it has lowered my blood pressure amazingly (50points on the diastolic and 20points systolic) – nothing short of miraculous, when all other remedies have failed. I take it in the middle of the night with a full glass of warm water (well away from food) so that it does not interfere with my assimilation of important nutrients.
