Honestly I’ve don’t both. Non toasted shredded and toasted flakes. At this point I can’t tell the difference because the cocoa powder and vanilla extract over power. I also only add about a teaspoon. I think the coconut adds texture and depth to the overall shake. If you add much more than my preference would be toasted.
