Sorry, I don’t know the official answer to that, but I CAN say that since it’s literally pure plant and nothing else, I’ve used it all over my body. I did rub it in for sunburn on my scalp once, and it relieved my sunburn pain immediately. It won’t harm you to try it!

So far as i know there is another of this aloe vera (in it’s juice form) made by this same brand that you can consume and probably use that in food. but this one, i believe is only for the hair, skin, body and other cosmetic use. I wouldn’t advice you to use it in your smothie.
I have pretty sensitive skin and if I get it too close to my eyes it will sting some but just around the eyes is fine.
As far as the ingredient list goes, i believe there is no difference. As this is a ‘natural’ product the color and smell might vary slightly from batch to batch, even with the same expiration date. Actually not sure this could actually expire, but suppose they have to put something on the tubes. If you are concerned, do not use it. Also, the 4 oz (and 8 oz) is in a tube, as where the 12 oz is in a bottle (that i really do not like at all). This could be making a big difference as the bottle is a different composition than the tube style and could taint the smell. Hope this helps.
