All baking soda is gluten free, aluminum free. Baking soda is NaCl, sodium chloride. All of Bob’s Red Mill products are for baking.
I have used this product for many years. To my knowledge, featherweight would refer to a type of baking powder, which is a different product. And no cornstarch is in this baking soda. Bob’s does have corn starch available and I have used that, too. For baking the uses of baking soda and baking powder react differently. You have to read the recipe. Occasionally, I use the baking soda in water to settle an upset stomach, but mainly, I use it with either extra virgin olive oil, an aloe gel or cornstarch as a deodorant. I started using that in the early 90’s to get away from products with aluminum chloride, which acts as an antiperspirant. The baking soda is acidic and that is why I will use another product with it and it works great. Also, cheap.
