It most definitely is re-usable. I have the exact same product and plan to re-fill it with the larger coarse-ground and cheaper bottle! I have two of these small bottles. With one the top unscrewed very easily. With the other it was a little stubborn at first. I think salt can become jammed in the threads somehow over time.
