My understanding is that Inulin is a prebiotic. You don’t want to take probiotics at the same time you’re taking a prebiotic.
Yes, I am part of an online community with hundreds of people who are using this brand of Inulin with their children. I have given it to my son age 11 and he only weighs 70 pounds. My only caution is to start with a small dose of 1/16 teaspoon or less for a week to see how your child tolerates it and very slowly build to your target dose. With inulin one should be careful about doses as having too much could cause gas. You should start at a low dose such as 1/4 of a teaspoons keep dose for 10days if not problems with it you could go up to 1/2. Do not exceed two tablespoons. One of side effects is gas as inulin feeds your good bacteria to increase.
